Air conditioning units have to keep the temperature and humidity of the indoor air on a constant level within defined limits. They include all 4 thermodynamic functions for air treatment, i.e.
Depending on the areal placement of the components the following classification is possible:
• single-stage air conditioning units (to air-condition one room)
• multi-stage air conditioning units (to air-condition several rooms with different load ratios)
• climate control units (for independent indoor air regeneration)
The different requirements - in particular with regard to the placement in the building – are divided into
• comfort air conditioning plants
• industrial air conditioning plants
Aeration is also appropriately effected by air conditioning plants which use heat recovery in order to save energy.
